Crime Rate Prediction using HTML

This project is a front-end interface** designed using HTML (along with CSS and JavaScript) for a crime rate prediction system. It serves as a user-friendly dashboard where users can input data (like location, time, type of crime, etc.) and view predicted crime trends or risk levels. While HTML handles the UI, the actual prediction logic is usually powered by a backend model (often in Python or another language).

Purpose:

  • To help users, researchers, or law enforcement predict crime probability in a given area and make informed decisions about safety and resource allocation.

How It Works (Conceptually):

User Interface (HTML):

  • A form submits this data (via JavaScript) to a backend service.

Backend Prediction (not HTML):

  • A machine learning model processes the input and returns the crime risk prediction (e.g., low/medium/high).

Display Results (HTML/JS):

  • The frontend receives the response and shows the prediction on the screen (e.g., using colored cards, charts, or heatmaps).

Advantages:

  1. Easy to use, accessible on any browser
  2. Fast interface with real-time feedback
  3. Can be integrated with any backend prediction model

Limitations:

  • HTML alone cannot perform predictions – needs backend (e.g., Python ML model)
  • Must secure user input and data flow (to avoid privacy issues)
  • Needs a proper data API or trained model to work effectively
