IoT Fire Detection System
Project Title:
IoT-Based Fire Detection System
Objective:
To design an IoT-based fire detection system that provides real-time monitoring of fire hazards and sends immediate alerts for safety and prevention.
Project Summary:
This project focuses on creating an IoT-enabled fire detection system that uses various sensors (such as smoke detectors, temperature sensors, and gas sensors) to detect the presence of fire or smoke in a given environment. The system constantly monitors these parameters and sends data to a cloud platform or mobile app. If abnormal conditions like excessive smoke or high temperatures are detected, the system immediately triggers an alert (via SMS, email, or app notification) to notify users or emergency responders. This helps in providing early warnings to prevent fire accidents and ensures quick action can be taken.
Key Components:
Hardware: Smoke detector, temperature sensor (e.g., DHT11), gas sensor (MQ-2), microcontroller (ESP32/Arduino), Wi-Fi/GSM module
Software: Cloud platform (ThingSpeak, Firebase), Mobile/Web app for alerts, Notification system (SMS/Email)
Technologies: IoT, Real-Time Monitoring, Cloud Computing, Wireless Communication
Features:
Real-time monitoring of temperature, smoke, and gas levels
Automatic detection of fire or smoke based on sensor thresholds
Immediate alerts sent via SMS, email, or mobile app
Cloud-based data storage for historical analysis
Easy-to-use app interface for monitoring and alert management
Applications:
Residential and commercial fire safety
Industrial buildings and factories (fire hazard prevention)
Smart homes and smart city infrastructure
Warehouses and data centers (for early fire detection)
Outcome:
This project demonstrates how IoT can improve fire safety by providing real-time monitoring, immediate alerts, and proactive risk management. It is a practical and efficient solution to reduce fire-related accidents and protect both people and property.
